Editing the network scale
Visum uses the network scale to calculate the distance between two points in length units from the distance in coordinate units.

Notes: The network scale is only valid if no projection is in use. If you use metric units, the formula distance [m] = network scale • distance [coordinate units] applies. If you use imperial units, the formula distance [miles/1000] = network scale • distance [coordinate units] applies. |

1. On the Network menu, click Network settings.
The Network settings window opens.
2. Select the Co-ordinate system tab.
3. Under Network scale, enter a factor the network scale is multiplied by.

Note: If you change the network scale, the lengths of line objects (for example links, connectors and line route items) may alter, too. If required, they must be explicitly recalculated (Recalculating lengths). |

4. Confirm with OK.
If you have not recalculated the lengths, a message will be displayed.
5. Confirm with OK.
The network scale is changed.
